Consolidation Project (week five and six)

  After we had completed the initial four week induction, in which we were not only introduced to our teachers, but also, an assortment of new processes and graphic design software including: Abode Illustrator CS6, Abode InDesign CS6 and Abode Photoshop CS6. Although I had already been introduced and practiced using older versions of the same software beforehand, I believe I have increased my ability to use them considerably within these two fortnights and I hope they will enable me to enhance the proffesionalism of my work later in the course.

  We were first provided with a brief that said we had to design a graphic piece, whether that be a logo, sticker, poster or cd cover etc.. It also emphasized the point that I was required to use at least to processes or pieces of software that I had previosuly been introduced to; if not, I probably will fail. Apart these two specidications and a guide to the stages I should take, what we were to design anhd how was completely up to us so I decided to design a poster design for a youth recreation centre in an underpriveleged (this idea came to me after having viewed the music video of "Hall of Fame" performed by The Script and Will.I.Am). Furthermore, in order to produce this I thought to use: Abode Illustrator CS6, Abode InDesign CS6, Abode Photoshop CS5 / CS6 and perhaps even, the process of Dry Point Etching.

  The project is currently being marked but I hope to achieve at least a Merit (equivalent to a B at A-Level)!

BREAKING NEWS

  Just got my report back for my project which informed me of grade. As it was only a small project, I could only receive a pass and I did. Included within the report was a table with a list of specific criteria that a person must prove to have presented throughout their project: content, depth etc. in order to be successful. This was measured with a rating system of: 1 = excellent, 2 = very good, 3 = good, 4 = satisfactory and 5 = not very good, and I got ones's and two's for everything! And finally, at the very bottom of the report were the teacher's comments, and he declared that my work was to a very high standard and I have the potential to gain a distinction (equivalent to an A at A-Level) if I continue in this easy, to this standard.
